Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is being cruel to others by sending or posting harmful material using a cell phone or the internet. Posting harmfull material on Facebook or creating a website about somebody that contains harmfull material is an example of cyberbullying.

I found the article about a girl from Florida very saddening. Cyberbullying is a terrible thing that causes many suicides among teenagers. Those kids from middle school don't know  what consequences a cyberbullying can have. This girl from Florida was just another victim Cyberbullying has caused her to take such measures. She left home for school leaving everything behind. She wrote goodbyes to her friends and then she jumped from a high abandoned cement plant. Young people such her take all the insults very personally until they can't deal with it anymore and taking their own lives. No teenager should take away their life away because of some dumb kids' insults. But sadly this is reality where people have gone mad. It is either cyberbullying or shooting that takes away lives of the innocent. I think it will never end even with all the interventions. It is like a drug war. It is constantly fought but the bad is still out there. It is just the world we live in.

AI and Robotics

I think that robots can't do what humans can, because there are things that only humans were made for. However robots can do a lot what humans cannot becuase they were made for this purpose. They do it more efficiently.
I think that humans are more likely to make errors, but sometimes even robots make an error and it is not their fault. It means that a robot was not programmed correctly by a human.
I think that a drone delivery Amazon is working on is a great idea, but i think that this will never workout. For me it is just another great idea that will never be used on a large scale at least not now or for a very long time. This is something that is very risky and based on todays technology it might be just to expensive to make. For me technology is great but sometimes it is just too much. I just don't see myself looking at a sky and see hundreds of drones flying above me with packages.

Legal and Ethical issues.

Piracy, computer crime, and IS misuse at the university

I like this reading beacuse it is abouy what i do. Many students illegally dowload stuff from the internet.  But should it be penalized?? My opinion is no. Most of the stuff that we must pay a lot for should be free. I know that you can't have everything but some prices for software are ridiculous.I think that people will keep downloading stuff ilegally because we are not getting the stuff for free anytime soon.

Security and privacy

I think we leive in an age where nothing is private anymore. Our own goverment is spying on us. I think that Edward Snowden did a very good thing leaking all the information. When we upload a photo on facebook it stays on the internet forever. You cannot delete it completely.  Other privacy issue is recent Tar
get data breach which left many people with no money on their accounts

World Wide Web

I think that the World Wide Web will continue to grow in the coming years. I think that we will see a lot of new search engines ex. Facebook is planning to directly compete with Google's search engine. Also i think that cloud storage is our future. We already use cloud storage in our daily lives, but it is still basic and little popular. I like the idea of Microsoft's new CEO. I hope he gets the second half of the formula and we will see a huge demand for cloud storage.

Networks and Communication

Both Synchronous and Asynchronous ways of communication are used today by most of the world. Without these types of communication we wouldn't be where we are now. Thanks to Skype we now can see our families who are overseas. Thanks to Text Messaging we can share and exchange information in matter of seconds. I really liked the idea they wrote about in the article "Skype in the Classroom, from York to Antarctica". Letting children in classrooms talk to people who might influence them in some way is a great idea. It opens their minds. I would like to see more of this in the coming years. But like everything is this world, synchronous and asynchronous way of communication have their cons. Like mentioned in article" Study: Texting while walking affects your balance". things can get dangerous when you are focused only on your phone. We hear more and more about accidents involving texting especially texting and driving. I am pretty sure that in coming years we won't be seeing more of these accidents because we will come out with new ways of communicating.

I think that our class can integrate Twitter into it. It can be used as a communication tool for students and the teacher as well. I have been using Twitter for a long time and i believe that it is the easiest way to communicate. I also think that https://www.easypolls.net/ can be a very useful tool to do class polls on different subjects and see what people think.
